Indulge with Integrity: Theo Chocolate Pops Up at Periodic

You’ve seen it at your local grocery store. Maybe you’ve even taken a tour of the Chocolate Factory in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood.

Next at Periodic: A Pop-Up Shop in South Lake Union, Theo Chocolate invites you to stop in and discover a better world through chocolate. Founded in 2005 here in Seattle, Theo is more than a chocolatier. It’s driven by the passion to create a positive impact through chocolate and believes organic ingredients and fair-trade practices are the way to get there. In fact, Theo was the first organic, fair trade certified chocolate maker in North America.

What sets Theo apart?

The company sources organic and fair-trade ingredients whenever possible and prioritize purchasing from small holder cocoa farmers in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They partner fairly with cocoa and other ingredient sourcing partners to pay them living incomes, with the goal of supporting thriving, resilient communities.

Let’s talk chocolate; Theo has something for everyone. Adventurous eaters will indulge in chocolate bar flavors like Turmeric Spice and Grapefruit Ginger. For those who love the classics, cups and candies with flavors like Coffee & Cream and Peanut Butter & Jelly are must haves. For those somewhere in between, try handmade confections like dark chocolate covered marshmallows or the Spring Tea Ganache Collection.

The pop up at Periodic will offer a new way to discover Theo chocolate, especially for those who are missing in-person experiences at Theo’s famous Chocolate Factory, where over 30,000 people visit in a typical year. As of April 2021, the flagship store still has limited capacity due to COVID-19.

“Although we are surprised when we hear of a local who hasn’t tried our chocolate, we are also thrilled because that means there is still space for us to grow right in our backyard,” notes Carly Hood, Associate Marketing Manager for Theo Chocolate. “This pop-up gives us another opportunity to connect with Seattleites in a safe manner. With our handmade confection collections and other delicious chocolaty treats, we hope to be the perfect one-stop shop for Mother’s Day or any other spring celebration people have planned.”

Theo chocolate is delicious, but it’s about more than a sweet treat. At Periodic, you’re invited to taste the difference for yourself. Not only will you find delicious bites and bars with award-winning flavor, but you’ll know it was ethically sourced and created by people who care about people, not just business.

Theo Chocolate will pop up at Periodic from April 29-May 13. Try it for yourself at 2252 7th Ave. Seattle, WA 98121.
